Middle East Situation: Impact on Global Transport Services

We are continuing to monitor the developing security situation in the Middle East and its potential implications for international transport services.

In response to the current regional instability, a number of airlines and ocean carriers are reviewing their operational routing and scheduling. Measures such as airspace avoidance, route diversions and schedule amendments may be introduced in order to maintain safe operations.

As a result, certain trade lanes may experience reduced capacity, longer transit times and occasional disruption. Additional operational costs may also arise where carriers or other transport providers are required to adjust routes or implement contingency measures, and surcharges may be introduced where services are diverted or amended.

Our operations team remains in close contact with carrier partners, transport providers and overseas agents to monitor developments and respond where service adjustments occur. Where appropriate, alternative routings will be assessed to help maintain continuity of service.

Given the fluid nature of the situation and carrier actions beyond the control of freight forwarders, freight rates, surcharges and transit schedules may be revised without notice, including for shipments already quoted or cargo in transit.

Customers are therefore encouraged to allow additional lead time where possible for upcoming shipments.
